About Us...

The Theatre Department of Spring High School has been members of the International Thespian Society since the 1973. In 2001, we opened the Black Box Theatre part of our department. When we were shown the completed theatre I look above the entrance and in large block chrome letters was 'LION PLAYERS THEATRE COMPANY'. So technically, an architectural firm named us. The name has stuck. The company is made up of about 30 students who are members of the International Thespian Society, Troupe #2532. The Company produces 5 shows each season. We have 3 main stage shows and 2 black box theatre shows. Auditions are open to all students at Spring High School.

The Lion Players Theatre Company is headed up by Sammy Green and Tim Hart, both graduates of Sam Houston State University. Mr. Hart has been at Spring High School since 1978. He will be retiring this year. Ms Green has been at Spring since 1986.
